Yori is a program written by Lora Baines and the romantic interest of Tron. She was in charge of the creation of digital simulations (such as the Solar Sailer).
TRON
For a short period of time, Yori, along with several other programs, was held captive by the MCP, until she was rescued by Tron.
With the help of Tron and the Tower Guardian Dumont, they communicate with Alan-One, who provides them with information necessary to destroy the MCP. They escape Sark's forces by stealing the Solar Sailor and flying it toward the heart of the ENCOM system, where the MCP was located. During that time, Tron introduces her to Kevin Flynn (who mistakes her for Lora). Her initial reaction implies that she may or may not have been aware of the former relationship between Flynn and Lora.
On the way to the MCP, Sark's ship intercepts and rams the Solar Sailor, destroying it in the process. He captures Yori and Flynn and plans to derezz them along with his ship once they reach the MCP. Believing Tron perished in the crash, Yori looses hope and is almost derezzed until Flynn revives her. The two work together to stop the MCP using the partially destroyed carrier, unaware Tron is alive and battling Sark.
Before Flynn sacrifices himself to defeat the MCP, he shares a brief, but passionate kiss with Yori. Afterward, he leaps into the MCP's beam which allows him to take control and give Tron the chance he needs to destroy the malicious program. Yori is reunited with Tron and repeats the kiss taught to her by Flynn. She is left wondering if he is still alive, unaware that he had been transported back back to the real world.
Other Appearances
Since the original film, Yori has not appeared in any other TRON series. When TRON: Legacy was announced, a fan campaign dubbed Yori Lives was created with the intention to bring Cindy Morgan and her characters Yori and Lora Baines back for the upcoming film. While Yori does not appear in Legacy, director Joseph Kosinski states that the character is still alive and well within the TRON Universe.
Currently there is speculation that she will be returning for TRON 3.
