Tomy is a Japanese toy company founded in 1924 under the name Tomiyama. In 1963 the name was officially shortened to Tomy. In 2006, Tomy merged with long-time competitor Takara. In Japan, the company is now known as Takara Tomy Co. Internationally, the brand is usually still known just as Tomy.

In 1981-1982 Tomy created a series of toys for the Disney film TRON. In 2002, for the 20th anniversary of TRON, NECA re-released several of the Tomy toys.
