I've seen several places that Marv is a rescue, and I acknowledge Quorra's line as? call-back to that.? But can you tell me where that's established?? I rewatched the movie, and didn't notice it.? Yes, Sam mentions it at the dinner conversation with his dad:

Kevin: "Wife? Girlfriend?"

Sam: "Dog -- Marvin. A rescue."
