The Sound Effects in TRON were created by several people on an extremely short budget, compared to other movies at the time. Supervising Sound Designer, Michael Fremer and Sound Designer Frank Serafine created the majority of the sound effects, with Gordon Ecker, Robert Hathaway and Wylie Stateman supervising the sound editing department.

Creation of the Sound EffectsEdit

Many of the sound effects were created, or rather "modified", with audio effects like Delay, Flangers and Phasers - these effects are used very frequently in the music industry.

Frank Serafine has described how the distinctive lightcycle sound was created by a combination of sounds from motorcycles and a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 synthesizer.
