Rinzler's light discs have red borders in contrast with other conventional light discs.He uses them in the Disc Wars .He really has one disc that can split in two twin discs.

The weapon is used for Disc Wars, a gladiator game grid game where programs face each other in separate compartments. When armed, the disc enables a beam of energy that begins to spin rapidly around the perimeter of the disc, creating a refraction of light in the surrounding air around the disc (an effect similar to "heat haze" or a "mirage").
