The Purple Gaming Program was one of the four teammates of Sam Flynn in Clu's light cycle tournament. He was portrayed by Brent Stait.
History[]
A burly program sporting a white mohawk and blue-green circuitry, the Purple Gaming Program was a conscript forced into a death-match in the Light Cycle Grid. As the opposing team's light cycles raced between the conscripts, he shouted, "You got no chance, user!" before turning away to rez his own bike.
He survived the first few moments of the match, but became the third team-member to die when he ended up in a head-on run at Clu on a spiraling ramp and Clu struck him with his identity disc as they passed each other. The blow caused immediate damage, and the program's light cycle shot into the air out of control, nearly landing on Sam's light cycle as, together with its rider, it struck the Grid and broke apart.
Trivia[]
- The Purple Gaming Program stood third in the lineup and wore a 2 on his helmet.
- Despite being credited as "Purple Gaming Program," this character's circuits were green or cyan.
- In the choose-your-own-adventure book TRON: Legacy: It's Your Call: Initiate Sequence, which was partly based on earlier drafts of the movie, one of Sam's teammates on the lightcycle grid was described as having purple circuits.
