The Power upgrade weapon is a device created by Shaw that, when attached to a program's identity disc, gives them a huge burst of energy that enhances their combat skills at the cost of their sanity.
While powered up by the Power upgrade weapon, programs display red-tinted eyes, have vastly increased strength and agility, and can run on walls. This allows them to effortlessly defeat highly skilled programs in battle. A side effect of the weapon's use is heightened aggression, and addiction to the power it provides.
If damaged, the Power upgrade weapon is able to completely repair itself, making it a very difficult weapon to neutralize.
