A Light ribbon is an impenetrable, temporary wall of light generated behind vehicles within the Grid, like Light Cycles and Light Runners, and is often used strategically in games to derezz opponents forced to crash into them. The only way to avoid them is around or straight up over it or waiting until the ribbon deactivates after a short time. The light ribbon can be destroyed only if an extremely large amount of force is used and when shot enough times..
The light ribbon is the updated version of the jet wall. This update was done to make be more advanced and modern. It was done by Kevin Flynn as he made the tron universe. It also appears to be made of some kind of liquid (possibly energy), as it ripples.
