Appearances TRON: Uprising

Kobol was a minor character in TRON: Uprising.

Biography

Kobol was a gang leader in Purgos, operating out of a pawn shop. He came into possession of Beck's identity disc when it was sold to him by Galt. When Tron, disguised, came to Purgos with Beck in search of the disc, Kobol agreed to meet them nearby after he inquired about the disc elsewhere. As Tron and Beck left the shop, they were attacked by a disguised Kobol and his gang, but were saved by the arrival of Lux. When Galt was cornered by the trio, Kobol derezzed him by stabbing him through the chest with his identity disc. After escaping on his light cycle, Kobol met up with Lux, who had been manipulating the memory-impaired Beck, and prepared to turn him in to General Tesler.

While awaiting the recognizer that would take Beck away, Kobol battled Tron, gaining the upper hand when Beck turned on Tron and held him at bay with Kobol's staff. When Tron removed his helmet and caused Beck's memories to resurface, Kobol attacked him but was unable to overpower him. Resolving to capture him at any cost, Kobol handcuffed himself to Beck, intending to trap him there until the recognizer landed, but was struck and derezzed by Lux's disc before the craft could land.

Skills and abilities

Kobol's skills with weaponry such as his identity and staff are noteworthy. He was able to battle and hold his own against Tron, the legendary hero of the Grid, for quite some time and was later able to overpower the former System Monitor, most likely due to the fact that the latter was already severely weakened. He's also able to fight with two identity discs.
