Overview
The Kernel is a program commanding the system's ICPs. They were seen mostly in Tron 2.0 Every system has a Kernel. Kernels are very strong and hard to defeat. For example, ENCOM's Kernel easily defeated Thorne, who was a User. This is unusual because Users usually have a great advantage over programs.
Description
A Kernel's shell makes him tall and gives him a typical strong man's look. He has red circuitry and always uses the disk, with high accuracy and damage (Sometimes he uses the Sequencer, which is an upgrade to the disc). He has more health than a Seeker. His main base is the Kernel's tower - a heavily defended place, where he can do what he wants in the system. Kernels believe in the users, but have very low opinions of them. The Kernel defends the system for the last stand.
Real-life Kernels
Computers actually have Kernels. If something goes terribly wrong in the computer, the system will fail in what is known as a "Kernel Panic". Kernel is obviously a military pun in the game.
