Light Ribbons in the TR2N Proof-of-Concept trailer.

The Jetwall was a barricade created by a Lightcycle in the TRON era. The lightcycle drivers were in constant motion on the Grid, creating jetwalls behind them as they moved. Each jetwall matched the color of its lightcycle. If a driver hit a wall either by accident or by having no more room to move, he was derezzed and the last driver standing won.

Due to system constraints of the time, the lightcycles and by extension their jetwalls, traveled in straight lines that only changed direction through 90° corners. In the TRON: Legacy era however, the jetwall has been superseded by the Light Ribbon, a barricade rendered in the more fluid motion of the vehicles in the system.
