Cutler was a program who was captured for the Games, where he met Beck. He and Beck fought together in the games, and survived the first two rounds. For the final round Tesler pitted them against each other for the price of freedom. He forfeited so that he and Beck would not have to Derez each other. Beck then went on to rescue him.
He is a Veteran of the ISO wars, which is symbolized by the armband he wears. He was inspired by Beck and Tron to help overthrow Clu's rule.
