Knowing that she gave him some helpful advice before the competition, he asks her to lead him to Zuse. Unfortunately, this meeting is interrupted when Clu's squad of [[Black Guard]]s raid the club, which reveals Castor's traitorous allegiance to Clu. The trio then quickly escape through an elevator.

Change the scheme! Alter the mood! Electrify the boys and girls, if you'd be so kind.

Castor, also known by some programs as Zuse, is a flamboyant and vivacious program that owns and operates the End of the Line Club, a nightclub located on top of the tallest tower in Tron City. He occasionally "plays" his cane in air guitar fashion.

Appearances

Castor made an appearance in a sneak preview of Daft Punk's "Derezzed" track, displaying his trademark flamboyant traits from the movie.

Biography

As Zuse, he was involved in Clu's Purge, fighting alongside the Isomorphic Algorithms. After the Purge, he found a need to reinvent himself for self-protection, thus adopting the new persona of Castor. He is known to have a past history with the ISO, Quorra, perhaps involving her escape from Tron City after being attacked.

With a tip from Quorra, Sam sought the help of Zuse in order to exit the Grid and inform Alan of what happened to his father. After stealing Kevin's Lightcycle, he makes his way to Tron City where he comes across Gem, one of the Armory Sirens who equipped him for the games. Knowing that she gave him some helpful advice before the competition, he asks her to lead him to Zuse. She obliges, and leads Sam to the tallest tower in the city where the End of Line Club is perched. She eventually introduces him to Castor, who apparently acts as a mediator between those who request Zuse's assistance and Zuse himself. Knowing full well of Sam's connection to his father, he eventually reveals himself as Zuse and agrees to help Sam make his exit. Unfortunately, this meeting is interrupted when Clu's squad of Black Guards raid the club, which reveals Castor's traitorous allegiance to Clu. Kevin and Quorra intervene and thus change the tide of an otherwise unlikely fight for Sam. Quorra, in the scuffle, suffers from a derezzed arm while Kevin loses his Identity Disc. The trio then quickly escape through an elevator.

In the aftermath of the battle, Clu 2 pays a visit to Castor and Gem to retrieve Kevin's disc as part of a deal to give Castor complete control of the Grid after Clu departs for the real world. Through an act of betrayal, Clu has his guards plant bombs in the club before departing, leaving Castor and Gem to derezz in the explosion.

Skills and Traits

As a ruse, Castor acts as an independent program who is secretary to Zuse, determining who gets to see him. In reality Castor is none other than Zuse himself, meaning he can pull a lot of weight in the political world of Tron and is capable of uniting multiple factions to overthrow Clu. He also has skill in getting programs into places, manufacturing fake ID's, and falsifying documents.

He can also be seen carrying a gun-cane, which he often "uses" as a guitar.

Trivia

  • He resembles Ziggy Stardust, David Bowie's 70s alter-ego.
  • For the role, Michael Sheen had to wear light blue contacts, which made him almost unrecognizable.
