Beta, the main character in TRON: Evolution for the PSP, is a program created by Kevin Flynn in 1985 to become (under Tron's tutelage) a competitor in the first Game Grid Tournament. Although fully customizable in-game, Beta is shown with blue circuitry in the loading screens and in the screen that shows all the competitors in the tournament.
Personality and traits
Beta has demonstrated a high proficiency with piloting vehicles (Light Cycles, Light Tanks, and Recognizers), hacking, and hand-to-hand combat. The only personality trait shown so far by Beta is obedience. His prime directive is to win.
Skills and abilities
During the first Game Grid Tournament Beta proves to be better than Tron and Clu at operating light cycles and light tanks. Beta also proved to be highly capable at piloting Recognizers as well as disc combat. Beta loses his first race against Tron, but then exceeds him in ability; it is arguable that Beta's coding is dynamic and adaptive. He shows no ability to change disc like Anon.
Triva
- Beta was originaly going to be Beck's name in TRON: Uprising before it was changed for unknown reasons.
