Beta is a program created by Kevin Flynn in 1985 to become (under Tron's tutelage) a competitor in the first Game Grid Tournament. Beta is the main character in TRON: Evolution for the PSP and is fully customizable in-game; Although in the loading screens and the screen that shows all the competitors in the tournament, Beta has been seen with blue circuitry and stands to the right of Tron.
Personality and traits
Beta has demonstrated a high proficiency with piloting vehicles (Light Cycles, Light Tanks, and Recognizers), hacking, and hand-to-hand combat. The only personality trait shown so far by Beta is obedience. His prime directive is to win.
Skills and abilities
During the first Game Grid Tournament Beta proves to be better than Tron and Clu at operating Light Cycles and Light Tanks. Beta also proved to be highly capable at piloting Recognizers as well as disc combat. After losing his first race against Tron, then exceeding him in ability, it is arguable that Beta's coding is dynamic and adaptive. He shows no ability to change disc like Anon.
Appearances
The only other appearance he makes outside of TRON: Evolution for the PSP is on the big consoles during Disc War matches in TRON: Legacy.
